Play the '10 Years Game'
A Great Life Coaching Tool
Where were you ten years ago? Who were you with, where did you live, what did you do for money and for fun? How did you feel? Take a moment to remember back. Imagine introducing yourself to someone for the first time. What would you say about yourself back then?
OK come back to now. Is your life very different now? What have you achieved since then? Have you learned things? Acknowledge any improvements you've made and how you've changed and grown.
Then fast forward ten years into the future – where do you want to be and with whom? What will you be doing for money and how will you enjoy your free time? What would you like to have achieved between now and then? Get really creative – dream big and bold.
Once you've created a really exciting future for yourself, pick one element that you can take a step towards making a reality. Something you can do within the next week.
So if you want to find the perfect partner, maybe sign up for a dating site tonight, or if you want to be a published author, buy a big notepad and commit to writing down story ideas for an evening. If you want a new career, start revamping your CV or get brochures for your local college.
Whatever the future you dream of, dreams only become reality when you take action!
Happy dreaming, and here's to your success!
